APC expands purchasing options for government customers and helps drive development of energy efficient infrastructure in the United States

West Kingston, RI— APC by Schneider Electric, a global leader in integrated critical power and cooling services, today announced numerous solutions in its InfraStruxure™ architecture and Uninterrupted Power Supply (UPS) product families are now in accordance with US Customs and Border Protection requirements for a designation as United States Country of Origin for purposes of US government, state government, and local government procurement. Several APC solutions now may be offered for sale to the government as "U.S Made End -Products" pursuant to the Trade Agreements Act (TAA), the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA) and certain Buy America Act (BAA) regulations.

Eligible APC solutions include: most InfraStruxure configurations, MGE UPS product families, Symmetra MW UPS, and the Symmetra PX product line. InfraStruxure is a high performance, scalable and adaptable data center architecture that dramatically reduces cycle time and complexity from concept to design to installation. InfraStruxure integrates power, cooling, racks, security and management in a modular form factor and is a building block of Schneider Electric’s comprehensive energy management architecture portfolio, EcoStruxure™. These solutions are among a broad range of products that have been determined to be made in the United States by US Customs and Border Protection.

”As a result of this ruling, Schneider Electric is now better positioned to serve local, state and US government customers and help organizations meet their energy efficiency goals,” said Jay Owen, vice president, Government Sales, APC by Schneider Electric. “Schneider Electric has a proven track record of helping companies and government agencies make the most of their energy, and with these new certifications, we can better meet the IT and data center needs of customers.”

Schneider Electric has a number of products that meet the requirements of the BAA, TAA and Buy American provisions of ARRA.  Schneider Electric has a proven, 100 year record of supporting government facilities to make them more secure, productive and sustainable with solutions across five critical building domains - power distribution, building management, data centers, process control, and security.

APC solutions enable organizations to intelligently and reliably optimize their energy usage, IT and other resources within the data center and across industry verticals from finance and banking to government and healthcare.
