Sharp Imaging and Information Company of America has been named the winner of two Bronze Stevie® Awards in the “Hardware — Peripheral” and “New Product or Service of the Year — Education — Postsecondary Enterprise Solution” categories in The 14th Annual American Business Awards. The honors were received for the Sharp PN-L803C AQUOS BOARD® interactive display system and the AQUOS BOARD Interactive Displays on Campus (Caldwell University video) respectively.
The American Business Awards are the nation’s premier business awards program. All organizations operating in the U.S.A. are eligible to submit nominations — public and private, for-profit and non-profit, large and small. Nicknamed the “Stevies” for the Greek word meaning “crowned,” the awards will be presented to winners at a gala ceremony at the Marriott Marquis Hotel in New York on Monday, June 20, 2016
More than 3,400 nominations from organizations of all sizes and in virtually every industry were submitted this year for consideration in a wide range of categories, including Startup of the Year, Executive of the Year, Best New Product or Service of the Year, Marketing Campaign of the Year, Live Event of the Year and App of the Year, among others.
The PN-L803C AQUOS BOARD interactive display system was recognized for being the ultimate collaboration tool. It features 10-point capacitive multi-touch technology, edge-to-edge glass and an interface that is so intuitive and responsive that it feels like you are writing on a conventional whiteboard. In addition, up to four people can write onscreen at the same time. The PN-L803C interactive display features Sharp’s original capacitive touch technology, which greatly helps reduce unintended input and writing errors. Sharp Touch Viewer, a new touch-operated onscreen user interface, allows users to easily view, manipulate and collaborate like never before.
Sharp’s second award, for the AQUOS BOARD interactive displays on campus, includes video footage featuring testimonials from faculty and students at Caldwell University. The university installed approximately 40 Sharp AQUOS BOARD interactive display systems in strategic locations around the campus, such as the library, athletics department, board room, conference rooms, nursing departments and select classrooms, to increase collaboration among the students and faculty.
“Sharp is honored to receive these recognitions and to be among the top performers across multiple industries,” said Mike Marusic, senior vice president, Marketing, Operations & Services, Sharp Imaging and Information Company of America. “These wins are a testament to our commitment to the ultimate collaborative settings to learn, work and create.”
More than 250 professionals worldwide participated in the judging process to select this year’s Stevie Award winners.
“The judges were extremely impressed with the quality of entries we received this year. The competition was intense and every organization that has won should be proud,” said Michael Gallagher, president and founder of the Stevie Awards.
